If you are in a band or you are a musician or performer, the organisers of this year’s Priory Park Community Festival would like to hear from you.
The Festival takes place in the park, in Reigate, on Saturday 26 June 2010 from 11.00am until 5.00pm. Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and the Reigate Events Collective, who are organising the event, are keen to stage a varied programme of entertainment throughout the day and are calling on local performers of all kinds to send in their demos for consideration.
Cllr Adam De Save, Reigate Central Borough Councillor, who is working with Reigate Events Collective on putting the event together, said
“The Collective is looking for a diverse range of acts to perform on the day so that the event provides something for everybody. We are looking for an assortment of bands and musicians plus performers and other groups who want to display their talents. A stage and PA system will be provided. If you are interested in being part of the event, we would like to hear from you.”
Musicians and bands should send through their demo CDs or music files plus some information about their act. Other performers are welcome to send in DVDs and information or email web links to their group or organisation’s website.
To be considered, please submit demos by Wednesday 5 May to Charlotte Fletcher, Community Liaison Officer, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council, Town Hall, Castlefield Road, Reigate RH2 0SH or by email to reigateeventscollective@gmail.com.
The Priory Park Community Festival promises to be a fun-packed, free day out for people of all ages with a host of community, craft and information stalls; fun activities for children; entertainers; conservation activities; traditional fairground rides; a youth zone; live music; performances and demonstrations and a variety of food and drink stalls.
The Festival will incorporate the Council’s event to mark Armed Forces Day, which honours our forces past, present and future. Local TA Units, Veterans and Cadet Corps will entertain the crowds with a variety of activities and demonstrations.
