Surrey residents wishing to raise an issue or concern or have their views heard on a council matter or policy can now create and sign “No.10” style ePetitions online via the Surrey County Council Website.
Using the internet to create an e-petition allows a potentially much wider audience to view local petitions and gives residents the opportunity to gather more names to support a petition.
Residents may gather names and addresses in both forms – both a paper version and an online version, although repeat names should be removed by the lead petitioner.
You can submit your petition by post or through using the online petition facility. Anyone who lives, works or studies in Surrey may submit a petition to Surrey County Council.
More information on how to create, review or sign Surrey e-petitions can be found at the following link: Surrey County Council e-petitions
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council will be launching a similar e-petitions service soon, which will give local residents a similar option for raising petitions on local issues for the attention of Reigate & Banstead Borough Council.
Cllr Lynne Hack, Surrey County Councillor for Redhill, said:
“The e-petitions service encourages residents to get more involved in local democracy and this is a very easy way of people making their views known to the decision-makers on the council. The service will also help the councils to better understand the views of residents, especially around issues effecting individual areas of the borough.”

What has happened to the proposed new parking restrictions in and around Redhill, especially around Earlswood, where the parking by the Railway station and roads around have been or are becoming full of cars, especially the roads Earlswood road,Woodlands Road, Common road where this should be made a one way… we have had people round marking the road but as yet no date or time has been made, to start the process. Can you please advise if and when this is about to start..
Restrictions are (at long last) due to be put down in early September in a number of roads to the north of and closer into the town centre, eg Carlton Road, Hurstleigh Drive, but I am not sure of whether this includes Earlswood. I will try to find out and get back to you.
