Free Christmas Treecycling collections

The Council again this year is providing a free real Christmas tree recycling service so residents can recycle their unwanted trees. Every year the service grows ever more popular and last year residents recycled over 8,000 trees. Reigate & Banstead Borough Council are helping residents to put their real Christmas trees to good use after the festive season by offering a free Christmas Tree recycling collection service.

Glass recycling can now all go in one bin

Residents will now no longer need to separate their coloured glass bottles and jars for recycling because new technology.

New optical sorting technology at the plant were the Council sends its glass for recycling now allows glass to be colour separated automatically ready to be turned into new glass products. This change means that all glass recycling bins at bring sites across the borough will be able to take glass bottles and jars of any colour.

Council seeks your views on waste and recycling plans

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is looking for residents feedback on proposals for a major expansion of the Borough’s household recycling service.
The report sets out draft proposals for a full, weekly collection of five different recyclable materials, meaning that the majority of households should be able to recycle more than three quarters of their rubbish from the kerbside.
